Well, if you find detailing your car quite a tedious work and you don’t have time to do it, you can hire someone to do the work for you. Thankfully, there are companies such as mobile car detailing long island that provides high-quality work and ensure client satisfaction.

If you are planning to do the cleaning by yourself because you want to save money or you are capable enough, then here are some tips that can help you do the work efficiently.

    Prepare

Wait for your car to cool down before cleaning it if the body of your car is hot from sitting in the sun or from driving. You should at least wait for twenty to thirty minutes. You will need to wait for your car to cool down to avoid soap and water stains since heat can speed up drying time of soap and water.

    Gather Supplies

Car cleaners, soft natural sponge, two buckets, tire cleaner, soft towels, and car wax must be prepared beforehand. Fill two buckets of water because the first bucket of water will serve for soaking your cloth while the other will be used for rinsing your cloth. Never use a dishwashing detergent or hand soap because it will strip of your car’s wax.

    Wash Properly

Rinse the car with a hose before applying soap. Ensure to remove loose dirt and debris to prevent scratching your car. To remove grime, dirt, and debris, set your hose on a high pressure but not very high as to not remove your cars paint or wax.

Clean Your Car from Top to Bottom

Work one section at a time and ensure to completely rinse each section with water after you finish cleaning it with soap so that it will not dry on your car. Lather the soap with your sponge; scrub your car in a straight up and down motion.  It is not advisable to clean your car in a circular motion because scrubbing it in a circular motion can cause swirl marks.

Never let your car air dry because this can cause watermarks and streaking. Use a soft towel instead to dry it. Clean the wheel and wax your car. Onto a small section of your car, cut a clay bar into three of four equal sections and spray a fair amount of clay lube. Move onto the next section once the clay begins to glide.

Clean and vacuum the interior portion of your car properly, clean the windows using glass cleaners and use wipes to sanitize the dashboard and console. You can vacuum again to remove any dirt and grime that fell out during the cleaning process.
